Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), represented by Associate Professor Dr. Pracha Yuenyongkul, Project Leader, and Ms. Sumana Sorathiwa, Project Coordinator, participated in the international research project “Learning for a Sustainable Future – Higher Education for Green Transition in Southeast Asia (GreenEdAsia)” under the ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE-STAND-2 program.
This 36-month project brings together six academic institutions from four countries: Finland, Spain, Vietnam, and Thailand.

The project meeting took place from May 2 to 11, 2025, at the University of Burgos (UBU), Spain, under the framework of Work Package 5: Strengthening Capacities of Partner HEIs. The objective is to enhance the institutional capacity of partner universities through a variety of activities, including:

  • Integrating higher education with society and industry using innovative teaching strategies

  • Applying Future Foresight Methods to identify and analyze the skills needed for a low-carbon and sustainable future

  •  Study visits exploring university–community collaboration at Yacimientos de Atapuerca and university–industry partnership at Pradorey Vineyard in Burgos

  •  A site visit to Hiperbaric, a leading company in renewable hydrogen energy and a strategic partner of UBU

  •  Knowledge exchange on bioeconomy initiatives developed by UBU

  •  Panel discussions on the role of internationalization in higher education and the need to support faculty competency development

RMUTL’s participation in this initiative reflects its commitment to fulfilling the university’s mission of advancing education through excellence in technology and innovation. The university also actively supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
SDG 4 – Quality Education
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
SDG 13 – Climate Action

Furthermore, this engagement strengthens RMUTL’s international visibility and fosters the development of local and national knowledge networks for long-term sustainable growth.
